The merge process begins automatically when a node or boundary is removed that creates an opening to an adjacent parcel(s). This activates the Merge Parcels tool tool, which is used to identify the sources and target parcel(s). Default target properties are copied from the first parcel listed as a source. Target parcel properties can be changed by right-clicking on the target area and using the menu.
